Every day it seems we are getting new information about COVID-19. There are many things we don’t know, including the extent of California Covid-19 rate of infection and duration of this pandemic. What we do know is that family physicians will be in the middle of it. You can depend on your CAFP and AAFP to provide you with accurate and timely information, advocacy for the resources and law changes you need to keep your patients and staff healthy, and opportunities to connect and share information, even as social distancing is being implemented more widely.
Your CAFP physician leaders and staff are as disappointed as you are to have had to cancel AMAM. We have appreciated all of the support and understanding our members have shown as we navigate this evolving circumstance. We are exploring potentially scheduling a modified policy/advocacy meeting in August and will keep you informed. In the meantime, you can submit online testimony on resolutions through 5:00 pm on March 31st. (Deadline Extended!)
Even though last weekend's AMAM was cancelled, there are many ways to connect with fellow family physicians and to get involved with your Academy:
• Attend the 2020 Clinical Forum on May 15-17 at the Long Beach Hilton
• Become a CAFP Key Contact and tell legislators the truth about what is happening in health care
• Engage in a local chapter event and connect with fellow family physicians
• Log in to SPARK and interact with other CAFP members in an exclusive online forum
• Participate in CAFP’s March 17 th Covid-19 interactive webinar
