Take the next step and share your voice as a family doctor to advocate for the future of family medicine. Join CAFP as we bridge the gap between health care and advocacy to make a difference in the profession of family medicine across the state.
The Family Physicians Political Action Committee (FP-PAC) is a bipartisan group dedicated to helping pro-family medicine candidates win election to public office and educating current legislators on the importance of family medicine. FP-PAC is the ONLY political organization whose sole mission is to promote family physicians and family medicine. We are the voice of family medicine in California, and we need your support.
CAFP’s All Member Advocacy Meeting (AMAM) is your chance to learn how Academy policy is made, network with colleagues with similar policy interests, discuss resolutions before the CAFP Board of Directors, and hear from speakers on a wide range of topics.
CAFP Policy articulates the positions, values, beliefs, and/or priorities of CAFP members; and guides CAFP staff and the Board in the positions it takes on proposed legislation, regulations, initiatives, amicus briefs, and the specific work it undertakes, including educational efforts.
Family physicians learn about important health policy topics and legislation to influence the laws that affect patients and practice. CAFP stays up to date concerning issues related to health care reform, public and private payment, public health, HIT, legal issues, medical practice affairs, insurance and the practice of medicine.
