Nominations should be submitted by March 31, 2025 for the 2025 awards.

Family Physician (FP) of the Year - The California Academy of Family Physicians annually honors a family physician who represents the finest characteristics of the specialty as the FP of the Year. 

CAFP Foundation Awards - Each year, the CAFP Foundation recognizes champions within the family medicine specialty. Join us in this celebration by nominating an individual who has had an impact in your academic, professional and/or personal journey. 2024 awards will recognize Educational Excellence in Honor of Barbara Harris (Educator of the Year) and Family Medicine Resident of the Year.

Hero of Family Medicine and Champion of Family Medicine - The Hero of Family Medicine award is presented annually to a CAFP member who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to advocate for patients, colleagues and the family medicine specialty. The Champion of Family Medicine award goes to a legislator or leader who has exemplified courage and empathy for patients, and demonstrated leadership, commitment and dedication to the cause of advocating for family medicine and primary care on behalf of patients.
