At PIH Health Whittier Hospital Family Medicine Residency, we believe that the primary care physician sets the stage for the patient experience in our healthcare system. We want said experience to be one of respect and protected vulnerability. We want to provide effective, comprehensive care with sustainable efficiency to a widely diverse population.
Want a highly procedural-based outpatient practice or a hospitalist career? Want to serve Spanish-speaking populations of SoCal or remote populations of the globe? Want to better treat elderly patients or better navigate capitated models of care? you will find our program to be an excellent fit.
Faculty Composition:
We currently have four core faculty dedicated to the curriculum and administration of the program. Our associate faculty include physicians of various specialties and careers, including ObGyn, Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, Addiction Medicine, Hospice Care, Hospitalist medicine, and Medical Informatics.

Whittier is centrally located between LA County and Orange county, within easy driving distance from beaches, desert, and mountains with skiing in the winter. Quiet and safe with good school districts, Whittier’s nice location allows for spousal job opportunities in both counties with a reasonable commute.
