The Biden administration recently announced that fully vaccinated Americans who received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster eight months after their second dose. The announcement stated that the booster shots will begin on September 20, 2021, pending approval from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The shots will be free and administered widely. CMS will reimburse practices for administering the booster. Practices interested in administering the vaccine should sign up at myCAvax. Some practices may be eligible for grant funded support. Learn more at CalVaxGrant. The deadline to enroll has been extended to September 10, 2021.
