I recently listened to the audiobook, Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body, by Roxane Gay, which was transformative for me in many ways. I believe that as family doctors, we all need to spend more time thinking about how patients living with obesity present to our offices and navigate the medical system. We also need to recognize how traumatic events shape our patient’s lives. I think we can all do better, and this book was a great start for me. I hope to engage with more of you at The Forum about these important topics.
