ABOUT US

PREMIER (Program sponsored REsearch in family Medicine Inland Empire Residencies) is a regional learning collaborative comprised of Family Medicine Residency Programs in the two-county region of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Our mission is to collaborate, promote, and celebrate resident scholarly activity and provide opportunities to share resources including educational faculty development and community engagement.

PREMIER seeks to highlight innovation within residency programs and provide a platform for sharing ideas, faculty expertise, and resident learning opportunities. It allows for broader inter-residency collaboration by focusing on research projects and outcomes important to our local communities and patient populations.

PREMIER’s signature event is our regional research competition which has taken place for more than 20 years. Held annually in early June, it includes educational faculty development (for CME) and a research competition, which includes both posters and oral presentations, along with case reports and research projects. Formal judging by participating residency faculty from the programs allows for PREMIER to highlight the best scholarly activity within our region, along with distributing cash prizes.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT

As an expansion of the research competition, there is now faculty development available the morning of the research competition. This allows program directors, associate program directors, and core teaching faculty to qualify for CME and learn best practices in education and teaching.
