Program Highlights and/or Unique Curriculum Components (i.e. Fellowship Opportunities):
Our program is a stand-alone 21-resident, soon to be 27-resident, community-based program offering three tracks, with the addition of our new Sutter Amador Rural Training Track in June 2021. Residents complete core inpatient training in Sacramento during the first year, and continue their clinical experiences in either urban Sacramento, the nearby city of Davis, or rural Amador County. Our curriculum includes comprehensive reproductive health care, extensive procedural training, point of care ultrasound, Osteopathic curriculum tailor to residents goals, generous elective time including opportunity for away rotations, and selective curriculum includes transgender health, HIV, integrative medicine, and more.
Faculty Composition:
We have 12 Core Faculty between our three tracks in Sacramento, Davis and Amador. Our experienced group of core faculty not only supports the family medicine education, but they have varied interests in: Obstetrics, HIV and Viral Hepatitis, Women’s Health, Sports Medicine, Point-of Care Ultrasound, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health Integration, Practice Management, Geriatrics, Health Equity, Transgender Medicine, Population Health, and many more specialties.
Spouse/Family Opportunities:
We understand how challenging residency training can be and our residency is a very family friendly program. The program is located in the heart of Sacramento and it’s such a beautiful, diverse city that has so much to offer! We are also close to Napa, Bay Area, and South Lake Tahoe! After residency training, there are wonderful job opportunities within our area. Overall, a friendly, affordable place to live.
Fun Facts:
