Program Highlights and/or Unique Curriculum Components (i.e. Fellowship Opportunities):
We have several areas of concentration: 1) LGBTQ health 2) Global health 3) Community medicine 4) Sports medicine 5) Health policy and advocacy 6) OB. We have also just started an opt-out family planning curriculum. We have a longitudinal point of care ultrasound curriculum for all residents.
We have 12 faculty who all practice full spectrum family medicine but also have varied interests including family planning, OB, global health, community health, sports medicine, health policy, LGBTQ health and behavioral health.
Long Beach is a very large city with a population of 500,000 and offers many opportunities for significant others
Long Beach has won an award for being the most diverse city in the united states! We have been a family medicine program since 1977. We are the only residency program in California with "Beach" in our name!!
