Program Highlights and/or Unique Curriculum Components (i.e. Fellowship Opportunities):
The Kaiser Permanente Napa-Solano Family Medicine Residency Program provides outstanding training in full spectrum Family Medicine that prepares graduates to excel in any practice setting and to be leaders and innovators in medicine. We have a strong commitment to community medicine and global health. Our pediatrics volume is significant, with each resident having 35-40% pediatrics in their panels. Obstetrical volume is also significant, and our graduates who choose to do OB in their practice are able to do so without needing to do a fellowship. We incorporate training in implicit bias, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and ultrasound longitudinally. All residents receive Medication Assisted Treatment training to manage substance use disorder and prescribe Suboxone.
We have a bright, engaged, motivated, and diverse group of faculty who are dedicated to training the next generation of excellent Family Physicians. Their profiles and interests can be viewed on our residency website.
The San Francisco Bay Area provides ample opportunities for your family to receive a great education, pursue employment, and enjoy the outdoors year round.
- We host a fun-filled annual residency retreat.
- All residents have the opportunity to pursue a global health trip as a cohort in addition to individual opportunities.
- Our residency program also offers a community medicine and global health fellowship.
- We seek to evolve as a program and actively engage residents in this process.
- From our location, you can visit the beach and the snow in the mountains in one day if you would like.
