Program Highlights and/or Unique Curriculum Components (i.e. Fellowship Opportunities):
We are a 13-13-13 program at a safety-net hospital in the San Francisco Bay area. Our program emphasizes acute and ambulatory care; family & reproductive health; and providing care in low resource settings. Family physician faculty teach through 1:1 mentorship and leadership. We value training family physicians to have broad skills and a desire to bring high quality care to all who need it, in any setting.
Faculty Composition:
Contra Costa Family Medicine Residency Program has over 50 faculty members that are directly involved with resident teaching, representing many disciplines throughout the residency program.
Each service has "registrars" - most are Family Medicine Physicians with additional training and experience, whether OB, pediatrics, intensive care or surgery
Our registrar system allows for teaching always through the eyes of a Family Medicine Physician
