What we know about COVID-19 seems to be changing every day, and few of us have time to read every day. Fortunately, the NEJM has put out excellent summary of what we know so far about how to care for your majority of COVID-19 patients who will have mild to moderate disease and how and when to monitor them for progression. In particular, the inclusion of GI symptoms as possible presenting signs of COVID-19, and the recommended closer follow up of those at risk for progression to serious disease, and the use of pulse oximetry to assess seriousness of disease gives us some sensible new approaches to patients with COVID-19. Quick reading, but high usefulness for outpatient clinicians.
