Dr. Kevin Grumbach - Leading the Fight for Primary Care for All Californians

Dr. Kevin Grumbach was part of a family-physician co-authored Article  in JAMA published on May 20 arguing that primary care should be treated as a public utility. The JAMA article advocates for a primary care "common fund" financed by public and private sources that would directly pay primary care physicians to treat patients. The article noted that CAFP adopted a similar "Primary Care for All" proposal that would allow all Californians to chose a primary care physician not tied to their insurance or employer. The  SF Chronicle also profiled Dr. Grumbach and his work to push for expanded access to primary care.
