Congratulations to Shani Muhammad, MD, who will step in to the role of District VIII Director on CAFP’s Board of Directors after the May 2020 Board meeting. Shani has been elected to the position which will be vacated when current Director, Dr. Jeremy Fish, completes his term. Dr. Muhammad will represent the Alameda-Contra Costa, San Joaquin-Calaveras-Tuolomne and Stanislaus County Chapters.
An active CAFP member since her days as an incoming Chief Resident, Dr. Muhammad has participated in the annual National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL) since 2013, serving as convener of the minority caucus in 2016 and as the convener of the entire conference in 2018. Shani has also been a key member of the leadership team which has transformed her local Alameda-Contra Costa Chapter into one of our most active and dynamic in the state. “Through the support of the CAFP, I also served as a member of the Commission on Health of the Public and Science for four years. A role that spring boarded me into committee and leadership appointments with organizations around the country. I am eager and ready to take on the challenge of steering our district forward and facilitating further growth in our area.”
Congratulations Shani, and thank you for your commitment to serve!
