CAFP Updated 2020 Resolutions

During the 2020 and 2021 years, the AAFP Congress of Delegates (COD) was either postponed or held virtually, with opportunities to forward state resolutions for national consideration, subsequently restricted. After the most recent CAFP Board meeting,  an update was made to the 2020 resolution A-1-20 (Closing Detention Camps). It was determined it was no longer timely to request a statement of AAFP and it is not being submitted to COD this year. View updated here.

As a reminder, the chart of actions taken is updated after each quarterly meeting of the Board and posted to the website and shared with members via the Academy in Action newsletter.

While the majority of resolutions are submitted at the AMAM,  members can submit a resolution for consideration by the Board at any time during the year.  All resolutions/policy proposals submitted to the Board of Directors after the deadline for receipt of resolutions at the AMAM and prior to the next meeting of the AMAM will be posted on the CAFP website. If a resolution is received within one month of a Board meeting, it will be held over until the following Board meeting to allow adequate time for members to comment. CAFP wants to ensure members have an opportunity to comment on those resolutions and be informed about any resulting Board actions.

Questions or comments on this policy are welcome. Please contact CAFP at cafp@familydocs.org. If you have a policy you’d like to submit to CAFP at any time of the year, please contact CAFP for information.
