CAFP recently submitted comments on regulations proposed by the California Department of Justice regarding use of California's prescription drug monitoring database, the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES). CAFP is concerned that the Department’s proposed regulations will contribute to financial and administrative burden for family physicians, and allow third parties an inappropriate degree of access to patient and prescriber information.
