Congratulations to Maisara Rahman, MD, the new District V Director on CAFP’s Board of Directors. Maisara was elected to the position vacated when former Director, Dr. Lauren Simon, became Vice Speaker on the CAFP Board. Dr. Rahman assumes her duties immediately as the representative for the Inyo-Mono-Alpine, Kern, Riverside-San Bernardino and Tulare County Chapters.
An active CAFP member since 2010, Dr. Rahman served as the Riverside-San Bernardino Chapter President in 2012-2013. She is faculty at UC Riverside, Loma Linda and Western Universities, and also played a key role in developing and starting the UHS Family Residency Program in Temecula. “As an Assistant Clinical Professor, I have taught and mentored medical students, residents, PA’s and Nurse Practitioners. I am dedicated to advancing the specialty of Family Medicine. I also know the serious quality and cost challenges of our health care system. It is vital to train the next generation of Family Medicine Residents to help meet and improve our quality of health care.”
Congratulations Maisara, and thank you for your commitment to serve!
