CAFP Asks Blue Shield to Consider Community-Based Practices in State Vaccine Plan

CAFP asks Blue Shield to consider community-based physician practices in state vaccine distribution plan.

CAFP recently sent a letter to Blue Shield of California regarding the equitable and streamlined distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. Family physicians have championed community vaccination for decades, because family physicians know how to reach hard-to-reach populations, including the unsheltered, undocumented immigrants, and minority and marginalized communities.  If we are truly committed to distributing vaccines to communities left behind in the pandemic, we must allocate vaccines to the community-based primary care clinics and physician practices who serve them.

CAFP looks forward to working with Blue Shield and the State of California to ensure an equitable vaccine distribution to protect the health of all Californians.
