The Medical Education and Research Foundation for the Treatment of Addiction (MERF) will be providing Mentored Learning Experiences (MLEs) for physicians and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) providers at the California Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM) 2020 State of the Art in Addiction Medicine Conference, MERF Medication Assisted Treatment Expansion Scholarships (MERF MATES) application are being accepted through July 27, 2020.
Funding for MERF MATES is provided by CA Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) as a component of the SAMHSA State Opioid Response Grant.
The MERF MATES scholarships will include:
Scholarship recipients are expected to be present throughout the conference, participate together from September 21st – 25th and during the preconference motivational interviewing workshop the week before (date to be announced), follow up Journal Club (3 evening internet-based journal clubs) over the coming year with an author presenting a relevant MAT paper.
A DEA waiver is not required to apply but is required for providers by August 3rd in order to be accepted.
The MERF Board of Directors will review submissions and follow-up with all applicants by August 3, 2020.
