New Changes to the 2025 All Member Advocacy Meeting!

Join us at the 2025 All Member Advocacy Meeting (AMAM) and get ready to make an impact in health care policy! We’ve got several changes to get excited about this year, with special reports, new guidelines for resolutions (a must-read if you plan to submit a resolution!), and an expanded role for chapter delegates. Read on to get up to speed on these key changes. Register Here!

CAFP Primary Care for All Task Force Report and Hearing

The 2025 AMAM will feature insights and recommendations from the CAFP Primary Care Task Force (PCFA). The interim report will address healthcare system reform, unified financing models, and establishing goals for primary care spending across California. The Task Force will hold a special hearing at AMAM and invite one Delegate per local chapter to provide verbal testimony representing the perspectives of their chapter. Chapters should be prepared to have a Delegate designee provide testimony based on questions included in the interim report. The handbook will be sent to registered attendees in mid-February, so delegates can be well-prepared in advance of the AMAM.

New Guidelines for Resolutions

New for AMAM 2025! Resolutions which are submitted by the deadline (January 6, 2025, 5 pm) will first be sent to CAFP committees for review and recommendations prior to AMAM. Committee reports will be issued to AMAM attendees shortly before AMAM commences. Delegates will have the opportunity to extract resolutions for discussion on the floor at AMAM. All other Resolutions (not extracted) and corresponding Committee recommendations will be confirmed by the delegates and sent to the CAFP Board.

All AMAM attendees will have the opportunity to provide verbal testimony on extracted resolutions as well as written testimony throughout AMAM on all resolutions (even those that were not extracted) supporting, opposing, or proposing amendments to a resolution. Be sure to read the complete resolution submission guide here. AMAM resolutions are intended to amend and create policy for CAFP and should not include directives on setting organizational priorities and directing activity.

Increased Delegate Responsibility

All local chapters receive a representative number of delegates and alternate delegates to AMAM. Delegates vote for new CAFP officers, and on changes to CAFP bylaws and dues. New in 2025, one delegate per chapter will be invited to offer testimony during the special PCFA hearing. Delegates will also have the authority to extract resolutions for discussion on the floor at AMAM, and confirm the remaining slate to send to the CAFP Board. Are you an Active member of a chapter without current leadership or not sure how to reach your local chapter leader to learn about becoming a delegate? Email your questions and interest to cafp@familydocs.org and we will help connect you. All delegate names must be submitted by January 13, 2025.
