CAFP was once again extraordinarily well-represented at the AAFP’s National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL) in Kansas City last week. In addition to fielding a strong Delegation of 12 members, 4 of the 5 member constituencies (BIPOC, IMG, LGBTQ+, New Physicians and Women) were led by CAFP Co-Conveners, and the entire conference was Convened by our very own District 2 Board Member, Anna Askari, MD! All in all, nearly 30 Californians participated; writing resolutions, offering testimony, serving on reference committees, running for office and advocating on behalf of their patients, colleagues and profession. Congratulations to these four Californians who were elected to national office: Drs. Rob Assibey (AAFP New Physician Board Director), Diana Howard (2027 IMG Co-Convener/Constituency Alternate Delegate to the Congress of Delegates), Matthew Mayeda (New Physician Alternate Delegate to COD/2027 New Physicians Co-Convener) and Bright Zhou (AMA-YPS).
