Program Highlights and/or Unique Curriculum Components:
Since our inception in 1995, we have combined a strong core faculty, dedicated community preceptors, an innovative curriculum, and award-winning medical centers so that our residents develop the skills they need to be outstanding family physicians and leaders.
Our core mission is to provide both cognitive and procedural training in a supportive environment, creating a solid foundation in Family Medicine that allows our graduates to provide full-spectrum primary care to their chosen community. A typical day in our residents’ continuity clinic involves skin procedures, managing diabetes, inserting an IUD, providing prenatal care, performing musculoskeletal injection, doing a Medicare Wellness visit and finishing with well-child check. We offer full reproductive women's health with c-section privileged faculty and abortion training. Our continuity Family Medicine practices are truly “one-stop shops” that serve diverse patient populations throughout the greater Sacramento region.
Spouse/Family Opportunities:
Lots of recreational activities especially outdoor, plenty of opportunities for nightlife, shows, great dining (Farm to Fork), wineries (Amador), good schools, and lots of job opportunities. We are within an hour of Lake Tahoe, Napa, and the Bay Area. The Sacramento region is one of the most diverse areas in California with 53 different languages spoken here.
