Our mission: train outstanding full scope Family Medicine physicians who will lead in maximizing the total health and health equity of their diverse communities.

Single residency community-based
Strong well rounded full-scope training in all major areas of FM (Inpatient Med, Peds (esp outpatient), Gyn, MSK, ED, OB, Behavioral Med)
Location: 1 hour north of San Francisco in “Subrural” beautiful Sonoma County - Big city resources, small town feel
KP Integrated system/Evidence-based medicine: always know you’re practicing the best medicine for every patient, 24/7 access to specialists, Team-based care and collaboration; population health management to reduce disparities
start day 1 with 50-100 patients on your panel and grow it over your time in residency with ability to add additional patients according to your passions/skills (e.g. Spanish-speaking? interested in gender expansive care? like kids and teens? geriatrics?)

21st Medicine century skills training for all residents: POCUS, MAT / Buprenorphine training for all residents, Motivational Interviewing, Telemedicine, Dermoscopy
Supportive environment with intentionally designed wellness/resilience
Capstone Curriculum: 3 times a year all residents pulled from rotations to do specialized skills workshops, team-building, leadership, community work, simulation, and more.

Faculty Composition:

Our residents consistently tell us that one of the greatest strengths of our a program is our warm and enthusiastic faculty! Our core family medicine faculty include 3 FM-OB faculty and 2 FM-hospitalists, as well as multiple folks trained in integrative/lifestyle medicine. All of our core faculty have gone through the UCSF faculty development fellowship and are passionate about teaching and creating optimal learning experiences to train our residents to be confident, outstanding full scope family physicians upon graduation. We also have a fantastic group of specialist faculty who are equally enthusiastic and excited to train our residents across the medical center. Our faculty includes Latinx physicians and other racial/ethnic diversity, and the diversity of our faculty is something we are intentionally working on expanding in order to best represent and care for our diverse community and best train our residents. Our faculty, like many of the leaders in our facility and our patient population, includes many who identify as LGBTQ+.

Spouse/Family Opportunities:

We are a family-friendly program (including LGBTQ+ families!); about 25% of our residents have kids, and Sonoma County is a great place to meet a spouse, settle down in a warm closeknit community, and/or raise kids of all ages. We have great schools from preschool through undergradate/graduate education, and fun outdoor activities yearround, including Redwoods, the Coast, parks for hiking/biking/camping, farmers markets, festivals and live music, and easy drive to SF and Bay area an hour south, or east to Tahoe for summer and winter fun. All of our resident spouses have been able to get jobs without difficulty, and it is possible to live in SF and reverse commute to Santa Rosa (though the vast majority of residents live in Santa/Sonoma County).
