Program Highlights and/or Unique Curriculum Components:
The AHWM Family Medicine Residency Program is dedicated to academic excellence utilizing a nationally recognized community-oriented primary care curriculum. Residency graduates credit their academic and professional success to the challenging curriculum that emphasizes service to culturally diverse communities, the collegial learning environment supported by an energetic faculty, and an innovative practice management curriculum that teaches the skills necessary for a successful practice in any setting.
Residents and faculty have the opportunity to participate in community health fairs and education, community-oriented research, career days and interactions with pre-med and medical students. Most residents are active in various local, statewide and national organizations that meet their professional and personal goals.
Our faculty encourages residents to pursue their professional career goals and is eager to provide them the most rewarding educational experiences by utilizing the affiliations we have developed with the other hospitals and programs.
