While frontline healthcare heroes like you were hard at work protecting Californians throughout the pandemic, proponents of the so-called “Fairness for Injured Patients Act” (FIPA) were advocating for their trial attorney-backed measure that will limit access to care during the worst possible time by eliminating key Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA) protections. While the initiative won’t be on the ballot until November 2022, CAFP and MICRA supporters are working hard to continue growing our coalition and educating stakeholders.
To support these efforts, we are inviting you to serve as Community Ambassadors in support of fighting this harmful initiative. The next virtual Community Ambassador training will be held on Wednesday, July 28 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
Community Ambassadors serve as leaders within organizations and local circles of influence to help educate coworkers, friends, and community members about the importance of protecting MICRA ahead of the 2022 election. This session will not be recorded, but additional trainings will be held throughout the year if you are unable to attend on the 28th. We will continue to keep you updated as the campaign progresses, and we thank you again for your ongoing commitment to protecting MICRA and ensuring access to care for every Californian.
