Jerri Davis, CHCP, has mentored CAFP members, staff and professional colleagues for nearly 30 years. You may have seen it; she builds community by introducing people to each other, and to new educational ideas. Then she steps aside - but not too far - and quietly shares the tools, wisdom and experience to help folks grow and shine. Jerri eschews the spotlight for herself, working behind the scenes. She notices the effects of bias, and encourages those who may otherwise have been overlooked, while nudging forward those who are almost ready.
Jerri was recently honored with the Francis M. Maitland Mentorship Award by the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions. Her lesson to us all: Notice someone. Encourage someone. Amplify someone.
