CAFP is devastated by the recent mass shooting at a Minneapolis church that claimed the lives of two children and left 17 others injured. As family physicians, we are committed to protecting the health and well-being of our patients and communities. That commitment extends beyond the clinic to advocacy. We are working to advance gun safety measures and ensure access to mental and behavioral health services.
In honor of the lives lost in Minneapolis and across the nation, we call on lawmakers to pass meaningful gun safety legislation and invest in the mental and behavioral health infrastructure our communities urgently need.
