Prescribe Hope: Advocacy in Action
This year, we’re prescribing more than medicine, we’re prescribing hope. At AMAM, you’ll join family physicians, residents, and medical students from across California to transform that hope into tangible change. Through dynamic sessions, interactive workshops, and direct engagement with legislators, you’ll gain the tools, strategies, and confidence to advance policies that strengthen family medicine and promote health equity.
From recurring favorite sessions like “How to Talk to Your Legislator” to sessions inspired by today’s most urgent health care challenges, AMAM will empower you to turn advocacy into action.
Be part of the movement that’s redefining health care. Together, we’ll Prescribe Hope, and shape a healthier future for every Californian.

All local chapters receive a representative number of delegates and alternate delegates to AMAM. Delegates vote for new CAFP officers, on changes to CAFP bylaws and dues, and are the only ones empowered to extract resolutions from the resolution consent calendar for discussion at AMAM. Are you a member of a chapter without current leadership or not sure how to get ahold of your local chapter leader? Email your interest to cafp@familydocs.org and we will help connect you.
All delegates must be submitted by January 12, 2026.
Deadline for Local Chapters to submit Delegate Names : Monday, January 12, 2026 to mcleveland@familydocs.org.
Find out how to become a delegate: cafp@familydocs.org
The CAFP JEDI Equity Tool was developed by the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee as a guide to prompt resolution authors to consider an equity lens when crafting resolutions, and for the CAFP Board and committees to reflect upon as they review resolutions. Resolution authors are required to submit a completed Equity Tool Worksheet as part of this year's resolution submission process. Learn more about the tool and about the work of CAFP’s JEDI Committee here.
We will once again utilize the Committee review process we first experimented with in 2025. Resolutions that were submitted by the deadline will first be sent to CAFP Committees for review and recommendations prior to AMAM. In 2026, Committee reports will be included in the AMAM Handbook issued to AMAM attendees in mid-February. This will provide ample opportunity for local chapters to discuss the recommendations with their Delegates to determine the chapter positions in advance of AMAM. Delegates will have the opportunity to extract resolutions from the consent calendar for discussion on the floor at AMAM. All other resolutions (not extracted) and corresponding Committee recommendations will be confirmed by the Delegates and sent to the CAFP Board. All AMAM attendees will have the opportunity to provide verbal and/or written testimony on extracted resolutions throughout AMAM supporting, opposing, or proposing amendments to a resolution.
The deadline for resolution submissions was December 7, 2025, 11:59 pm.
