Significant changes are coming to office evaluation and management coding (and payment) intended to reduce administrative burden and increase physicians' time with patients. AAFP is rolling out resources to help members prepare before changes take effect January 1, 2021. The new tools include a checklist for small, solo, and independent practices; a checklist to help employed physicians understand how the updates may affect employment contracts and practice workflows; and a resource to help practices work with electronic health record and practice management system vendors to get ready.
