We've compiled a list of general resources below that may be of assistance to you.  Even if you've been in practice many years, you may also want to review some of the links and information provided in the resources section of the New Family Physician Toolkit.

The Medical Board of California provides information on licensing, the practice of medicine in California, consumer complaints, and other issues.  You may also call them directly for assistance at (916) 263-2382.

The American Board of Family Medicine is charged with the certification and recertification of family physicians.  For family physicians training in other countries, you can find information on reciprocity or how to become certified.

Familydoctor.org is AAFP's Web site developed to provide information to your patients.  Send your patients here to get information on chronic diseases, such as diabetes and asthma, daily health tips, an over-the-counter medication guide, and more.

Both child and adult vaccination schedules for 2007 can be found on AAFP's immunization information pages.

The California Emergency Preparedness Office includes links to the state's emergency response plan, bioterrorism response planning guide, the California pandemic flu plan, and other resources.

The California Primary Care Association represents more than 600 non-profit community clinics and health centers in California. CPCA offers a Quality Improvement Workgroup, new clinician orientation, a clinicians' job search, yearly salary surveys, and more.

Family Medicine Digital Resources Library provides access to:  conference presentations/ handouts; PowerPoint lectures; learning modules; digital images; recommended Web sites; and curricular materials.
