Position title: Program Associate, Member Relations

Status: Exempt

Reporting to: Director of Membership and Marketing

Location: San Francisco

Salary: $50,000-55,000/year with generous health and retirement benefits.

California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) seeks a self-directed, collaborative, customer-service oriented Program Associate to join our team. The Program Associate supports the efforts of our Membership and Marketing Section recruit, retain and recapture family physician members. The Program Associate will be engaged in e-mail marketing, program promotion, coordinating medical student and resident activities, web maintenance, and developing and tracking measures of member engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work with CAFP team and volunteer leaders to produce effective member events and activities to support member experience and retention.

  • Coordinate annual efforts to encourage timely renewal of membership.
  • Oversee membership administration processes, including working with AAFP on monthly dues receipts and reporting, member activity reports, and ensuring accurate member information in Salesforce.
  • Provide member support, including answering routine questions about dues payments, CAFP events and website navigation.
  • Represent the Academy at various meetings and conferences as needed.
  • With the DMM, assist with the implementation of new member engagement campaigns to enhance the member experience at the state, county and national levels, with an emphasis on medical students, residents, and residency programs.
  • Coordinate with Salesforce administrator and Director of Membership and Marketing (DMM) to integrate appropriate information into our customer relationship management software.
  • Assist with regular website updates and edits using WordPress.
  • Manage e-mail marketing programs and campaigns (e.g., Constant Contact, MailChimp, Emma).
  • Organize and format regular e-newsletters and other member communication.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products (Word and Excel) and Google products.  
  • Ability to effectively use Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platform a plus.
  • Experience with WordPress a plus.
  • Customer-service oriented. Association experience a plus.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
  • Desire to think creatively and take initiative, while working collaboratively in a team-based setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
