Private Payer Advocacy

Academy leaders have been conducting meetings with representatives of California's health plans to discuss payment and contracting issues important to our members. Most recently, the Medical Practice Affairs Committee met with representatives of United HealthCare. Of concern was payment for same-day prevention and E/M services, among other issues. CAFP is pleased to announce that after raising this concern, United announced that this policy has been rescinded.
As a follow-up to this success, CAFP would like to expand our outreach to health plans, but we need your help – we need to hear about your specific payment and contracting concerns with private payers in the state. This will help us identify specific issues you are facing and request a resolution.
Please complete the brief survey below , or e-mail Sandra Newman, Director of Health Policy, with this information.
