Local Chapters

CAFP's membership structure includes the state's 36 component county chapters that serve the needs of the local family medicine community and the public in the promotion of accessible and comprehensive health care.

Our local county chapters regularly:

  • Host regular CME workshops, eligible for Category 1 Prescribed credit.
  • Provide networking opportunities for members to connect with other local physicians through informal socials.
  • Cultivate the next generation of family physicians by offering scholarships and awards to pre-medical students, medical students, and residents to participate in family medicine conferences and programs.
  • Organize informative sessions on practice management topics to ensure members have the tools and resources they need to practice family medicine successfully in every setting.  Past topics include how to adopt the patient-centered medical home concept in your practice, pros and cons of EHR systems and patient registries, and latest treatment options for diabetes.
